The Senior Legal Executive (Business Partnering) provides legal business partnering for the assigned business area, offering day-to-day legal advice and managing legal risk within its remit. The role handles the range of legal matters arising in the assigned area from advisory and contracting to licensing, regulatory change, dispute and inspection support.

I. MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Legal Business Partnering

• Advise the assigned business area on day-to-day legal matters and recommend practical, actionable solutions that enable business decisions
• Draft, review and mark up contracts for the assigned area, including both standard and non-standard agreements
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes relevant to the assigned area, flag their business impact, and provide domain input to the Legal Obligation Register
• Prepare and submit applications for business and sub-licenses required for the assigned area, track their validity and renewals, and maintain the license register and go-live checklist
• Identify and assess legal risks in the assigned area, propose mitigation measures with clear timelines, and track them through to closure
• Handle disputes and inspections in the assigned area, prepare documentation, provide legal input, and coordinate resolution; capture root-cause lessons for contracts and processes
• Maintain templates, precedents and advisory logs for the assigned area, and contribute domain content to the Legal knowledge-management system
• Partner with business stakeholders, maintain effective working relationships, and ensure timely legal responses within agreed SLAs

II. REQUIREMENTS:

• Holding a lawyer practicing certificate is an advantage
• Minimum 4 years of experience in legal advisory, in-house legal or related roles
• Good knowledge of commercial and the laws relevant to the assigned business area
• Legal analysis & drafting skills
• Explain legal matters in plain business language
• Work effectively with business teams
